Many thanks Reinhard, you have been very helpful. I don't understand ALL of the stuff reported by the showstp command , but that is probably because I do not have enough knowledge about ethernet (or maybe networking in general), which of course is an issue I should not spam to this list. ;-)
However, the information about the 15 seconds learning time helped me to understand a little more what's happening in my system. Now I have shortened the delay to 20 seconds and tested it on several different computers, it seems to work 100% of the test cases.
