Hello All,

The problem I am trying to address is this I have quite a large lan that needs to be changed over to a different Class "C" ip, prob is down time can be nil so the change needs to happen as seamlessly as possible. my idea is to use something like the following, but I have not been able to get it working. In the example Lans "A" and "B" are in fact the same lan.
                                                      _________
Lan "A" old ip  -------bridged eth0:1-----|---(br0)---- |--------bridged eth1:1--             _________
192.168.x.x                                     | linuxBox|                                 \          |               |
                                                      | RH 8.0   |                                 |----------|  WAN     |
Lan "B" new ip-------routed eth0:2-------|________|---------routed eth1:2-----/          |________ |
172.16.x.x

sorry about the poor asci art, but the idea is that if I can bridge the old ip and setup a route for the new I can do the change over incrementally versus having to have large amounts of down time.

I havent been too successful thus far wondering if anyone could help

thank you all

AJ
