Folks,

My home LAN is on an ADSL connection, and my ISP provides me with a subnet of
8 static IP addresses (5 usable). I'm currently using only one IP and using
my router to NAT, but am currently building a new box to act as
firewall-bridge for the LAN.

I have a couple of questions:

- Is anyone here using Gentoo..?
There are several sets of kernel-sources ebuilds available - do any of them
   have the bridging-iptables patches applied?

- If I'm using the vanilla 2.4.20 kernel sources, I apply first the ebtables
patch, then the bridge-nf-0.0.10-against-2.4.20.diff patch. Right..?
I've only compiled the kernel a few times, and have never applied patches,
so I'm just a bit cautions of this.
Sorry for the following dumbness - I just need reassurance:
Where do I get the ebtables patch, please..?
I use the `patch` command to apply the patches, as I've seen in some
    other postings, right..?

Many thanks for your time & bandwidth,

Stroller.
