I've been trying out the "ip mode" patches 
(available at
 http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/#bridging )
for my bridging+routing needs, and they've proved to be very useful.

I set "brctl ipmode on" and then mangle packets with netfilter (and
the netfilter patches) and route them over various tunnels with
iproute2's multiple routing tables.

My question: Are these patches likely to be integrated into the main
line of the linux bridge code?  For my (simple) needs, they seem to be a
nice and simple alternative to ebtables.
