Hi

I have installed a bandwidth manager that does bridging for 4
devices. All of these devices are RTL8139 network cards. The system
is running Red Hat 8.0 and I have patched the linux-2.4.18-14 kernel
with firewall support and htb packet scheduling.

The system was running fine for about 5 days. Then it started slowing
down, dropping packets. And if I want to access a shell localy on the
system it takes a long time to authenticate me. Yesterday and today it
was running perfectly again, and then tonight it did the same.

I went through the log files and I saw the following

br0: received tcn bpdu on port 1(eth0)
       br0: topology change detected, propagating

>From the mailing list I saw that I have to activate setprio on the
bridge which I did. I also saw in the FAQ,s that there is a problem
with the RTL8139 driver. Could this be my problem and if is there
a new module for the card where can I find this.
