from the thread on 'Bridging and Etherlink 1000' Paul Schulz had problems
with Broadcom cards and hardware checksuming, a patch for tg3.c solved his
problem.

I added the line

tp->tg3_flags |= TG3_FLAG_BROKEN_CHECKSUMS;

as a generic line for all tg3 type cards, this fixed my problem with our:-

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5701 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 15)
03:08.0 Class 0200: 14e4:1645 (rev 15)
