Dear friends:

I have a linux box running kernel 2.4.20 with bridging enabled:

|----------| |---------| |---------|
| HUB |---------eth0| Linux |eth1------------| HUB |
|----------| | Box | |---------|
      | |---------| |
      | |
      | |
  --------- ---------
     LAN-1 LAN-2

I have Windows2000 and Windows98 machines in each one of both LANs.

Windows 98 "sees" all machines (w2k and w98) in both LANs, but Windows2000
just "see" machines in local LAN either w2k or w98.

For example a w2k machine in LAN-2 only see w2k and w98 machines in LAN-2;
it does not see any machines in LAN-1. A w98 machine in LAN-2 see ALL
machines, w2k and w98 in LAN-1 and LAN-2.

I also have a Novell server in LAN-1 and all machines in both LANs are
Novell clients; this is working well. Also a Macintosh in LAN-1 sees his
friend Macintosh in LAN-2 using Appletalk.

I have tried unsuccessfully all possible combinations of STP configuration,
but the behavior is the same.

Perhaps I have to disable STP?

Is something that I should configure in the w2k boxes?
