The 2.5 bridge-nf code should not give problems that are not encountered in
2.4 (unless the source of the problem is elsewhere).

2.4.20 is (almost) the same code as is in 2.5. The reason why people use
2.4.19 is because there is no link on the bridge hp to the 2.4.20 code. The
bug reports like in the mail "Bridge problems", namely that messages like

> nf_hook: hook 0 already set

fill up the log are all for the 2.4.19 patch, since this bug is solved in the
2.4.20 patch (and was never in 2.5).
The 2.4.19 patch was the last one from Lennert. The 2.4.20 patch is only
available through ebtables.sourceforge.net since the bridge hp doesn't seem
to ever get updated. There's even still a reference to "brepf" on it (early
predecessor of ebtables). Since the 2.4.20 patch contains the code resembling
the 2.5 code the most, it should be preferred over the 2.4.19 code.

cheers,
Bart
