Hello,

Two questions on bridge timer values in BRCTL:

1. Is there a range on aging time (brctl setageingtime). IEEE 802.1d spec is
10-1,000,000 with a default of 300. The default appears to be accurate on BRTCL.

2. How does garbage collection interval interact with setageingtime, seeing as gcint
is not an 802.1D thing, but a Linux thing. I mean - if gcint is LARGER than
ageingtime, does it mean that MAC addresses are not aged out of the source
address/filtering database until gcint??? Does ageing out only occur at GCINT? - that
is, timing out MAC entries is based on agingtime + remaining period in gcint??

Also, no range is given for gcint (although default appears to be 4). Is there a valid
range.
