Hello,
I'm trying to setup 2 boxes (Redhat 7.3, kernel 2.4.19
SMP) to run as failover bridges. Both are setup
identically.
Bridge-1 is the master bridge with bridgepriority of
20000 and Bridge-2 is the standby with bridgepriority
of 20001.
On Bridge-1, when I check the bridge status everything
looks the way it should be. It is both the designated
root and the designated bridge for all ethernet
interfaces within the bridge.

On Bridge-2, I'd also expect to see that Bridge-1 is
both the designated root and designated bridge for all
member ethernet interfaces of its bridge. However,
that's not the case. For some of the ethernet
interfaces, even the designated port is different from
the interface's port id.

What am I doing wrong? What does the designated bridge
mean here? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
