Found another new Bookstore, Border's, in another new shopping center that I
didn't know was being built. They had all of the Brin books as far as I
could tell. For Banks they had Excession: $7, CP: $16, and The Bridge: $13
(all USD). I asked salesperson about other titles and the different prices.
She said, maybe everyone else knows this, that books have three formats,
hardback (duh), massmarket and quality market. The quality type has finer
paper, cover and larger size but still a paperback. The only other Banks
massmarket book was CP. There were only five of his titles that they could
get. In fact the $16 CP didn't have a USD price on it, just UK, AUS, and
CAN. CP was thicker than Bridge and had small type face, must be a long
book.

Just for fun: when a movie is bad sometimes it goes 'straight to video' or
worse 'straight to Cinemax' instead of theaters. Do books ever go 'straight
to paperback?'
