There are people who have, as part of their job descriptions, helping with
coordination of the whole thing. (E.g., county clerks, I think.) The
polling places are staffed by volunteers, mostly retired folks.
I made it a point to thank everyone that I dealt with during the whole
voting process yesterday. I greatly appreciate that these folks are
taking time out of their lives to make the process work, and I want them
to know that.
