Noblesse oblige

Murray Bowman
National Post

Our U.S. neighbours are suffering from a political crisis. Let us unite in
petitioning our Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II, to make a proclamation:

"To Our Most Beloved Erstwhile Subjects in the North American Colonies: We
have observed the recent difficulties in our former North American
dominions, now styled 'The United States of America.' Certain in our
affections for our former subjects, despite their having raised an
unjustifiable rebellion against Our Royal House, and wishing to restore
peace, order and good government to said former dominions, we do hereby
proclaim a Royal Protectorate over the former dominions and appoint as our
Viceroy, Her Excellency Adrienne Clarkson, Governor-General of Canada."

Respectfully submitted by Her Majesty's loyal subject,

Murray Bowman, Vancouver.

"The state has no place in the nation's bedrooms."

"Just watch me."

 - Pierre Elliot Trudeau (1919 - 2000)
