Yahoo's free email service allows you to download it via a
POP3 client. I'm currently using it for my list account,
using netscape's mail client. The only drawback is that
they don't spend any more time improving the service than
is absolutely necessary, so the mailserver performance
can be less than ideal at times.
They also provide access to the same account via the website,
so it is a bit more flexible than any other free service.
