Now, there have been laws passed about unsolicited faxes.  An "opt-in"
system for the cellphone ads would keep you from getting tons of
unsolicited calls for advertising.  Too many complaints of unsolicited
cell calls could have repercussions in the way of fines and so on, if the
laws changed quickly enough to fit the situation.

Personally, if they just sent me small text messages that I didn't have to
pay extra for, that would be fine.  (I just don't want very much in the
way of advertising, as I've already indicated in a previous post.)
