Probably each country converges towards different polarizations.
But here in Brazil things got muddy after the fall of the
dictatorship and the fall of Berlin Wall (1989, for those
who weren't born at that time)
In Sao Paulo (City), they elected a mayor whose set of political
dogmas include: Socialism, Pro-Censorship, Pro-Abortion,
Pro-Homosexual Marriage; the Rio de Janeiro Governor has:
Socialism, Anti-Abortion, Anti-Censorship, Pro-Organized
Religions; the Sao Paulo Governor (who is dying of terminal
cancer) has: Capitalism except for Harbour Work, Anti-Censorship,
etc.
Of course we still have some fossils, aka "Caudilhos", whose
positions are Pro-Myself, Pro-Me, Anti-My Enemies, etc.
