have lost interest in most of the discussions that go on, and am too busy at
the moment to participate.

Julia, I'll tell you my oppinion on Ishmael once I have finished the
Watership Down books and The Dolphins of Pern (you said you wanted a
comparison based on those). Right now, I will say that the writing style in
Ishmael leaves a little to be desired, and, at least for me, the dialog
(which is the majority of the book) was a bit predictable (I do not know how
predictable it would be for others, my mind is quite unique). I liked the
focus of the book though.
