O.k., now that I've finally finished compiling "The Lurker's Guide to the
Practice Effect" - I am thinking of starting another Brin-L collective
effort. It seems to me that "Glory Season" would be the logical choice
for just such an effort. There's a lot more *meat* to this story, than
TPE, so I think it will provide much more conversation.

In order to give people time to get their books, the reading would not
begin until Early April. (More importantly, I will be incredibly busy over
the rest of March, which will severely limit my Brin-L participation.) I
will comit to writing up one Chapter a Week - usually on Saturdays, which
will form the fodder for discussion, ala Brett Coster.

Of course, at that rate, the discussion will last some time until Halloween
- and understanding that most people on this list are voracious readers, we
can hardly expect them to cease and desist for half a year! So, certainly
read ahead if you want, but if people would like to participate - I would
humbly ask that they commit to *rereading* the relevant chapter when the
"discussion guide" first gets published.

When we did the TPE, the discussion on the first chapter was very lively
and active, but as the group separated into differing reading speeds,
discussion tapered off - until it died altogether once Brett left us.
Thus, I think its very important that people *decide* to refresh themselves
each week to participate. Anyhow, it takes a lot of effort to write up
interesting things to discuss about each chapter - so I only want to do
this if there is serious interest from people who both want to participate
*and* think that the process is worthwhile.

If you'd just like to let me know that you want to participate, please
e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] . If you have helpful suggestions,
refinements, comments, etc. on the proposed reading plan, please reply
On-List.
