Well, I know have a distinct opinion on the prettiest part of Barbie's legs. I was at a conference yesterday and visited one of the booths of a Duke group that works on prosthetics for individuals including the skin type appliances (now I can really "see" the masks from Mission Impossible type shows), but more importantly fingers. Evidently the joints in Barbies legs are quite resilient and can be postioned to varying degrees of bend/straight to help with basic grip/hold activities. The joints are placed in a light foam and covered with the skin appliance (with custom fit sockets added for stumps, etc). The joints are inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. The group at Duke now gets donations from Mattel and do not need to buy and dissect Barbies. I guess it's just proof that imagination and McGyverism still goes a long way even at the greatest research facilties, the results were incredibly realistic......... but I did laugh for a good 30 seconds when the gentleman told me that for some reason they (he and the woman that is the other part of the team) have never dissected Ken Dee
