Except that it is discussed! If it has no effect on behavior, how could we
possibly be discussing it? Although we're blurring self-awareness with
consciousness; for the former we have good operational definitions and
tests, like the paint-on-the-nose test.

Maybe every member of the human race that hasn't discussed consciousness
*isn't* conscious - it's just a very infectuous meme. :)
