12 billion people? Sary thought. But that doesn't allow for the real
possibility of a population correction of some kind, whether it's a war or
disease or something. That's a concern I have about places like India,
China, or even NYC, where there are huge numbers of people crammed together.
Imagine the effects some disease we in the West think extinct like cholera
on the crowded, dirty streets of New Delhi. Scary thought, at least to me.
Look at what's already happened in Africa. If the AIDS epidemic there
doesn't wind down, the entire southern part of the conitnent is going to be
a ghost town.
Of course, that's just a layperson's perspective. I'm sure we have someone
with some real epidemiology knowledge on the list. Any thoughts?
