60 acres is one drilling platform.  The amount of oil that can be obtained
from just one platform is not that substanital compared to the total US
demand, even if the fields involved have massively thick oil sands and
horizontal drilling is used.  And John, I've traveled to Alaska and have
done analysis of logs from Alaskan fields.  I've not seen massive oil sands
(or thick oil zones in limestone formations for that matter).  Good fields,
mind you, but not like the logs I've seen when I was in the Middle East.

In short, your numbers are inconsistant.  BTW, I'm not arguing that we
cannot drill in Alaska with minimal impact on the environment, I'm arguing
against drilling that area now because it seems prudent to hold this field
until oil becomes expensive.
