The reason that there wasn't any observed variation was that the people who did the minimum actually did what was necessary and the people that did a lot were snookered into doing unneeded stuff. That doesn't prove that zero effort was needed, and I'll be happy to agree with you that those people who did what was needed performed a valued service. There is nothing as bad as a legitimate field being flooded by snake oil salesmen. They should stay will shell games where they belong. :-) Dan M.
