I may be way off base, but I'm shocked that the implications of buying on the spot market aren't obvious. It accentuates the effects of supply and demand on prices: because its the marginal supplies. Plus, the higher cost won't lower demand, because it isn't passed on. As far as I can see, that's just ecconomics 101. Dan M.
