DVD is definitely available here in Oz - Melbourne anyway. Let me know when
you see it so we can compare notes. I saw it when it came out, as did some
others on the list. I know I've got some of the original correspondence
tucked away on one of my PCs.

This is "The War Game" by Peter Watkins. Won the Oscar for best documentary
in 1967. I saw it at Uni a few decades ago. It has been shown a couple of
times on either the ABC or SBS in the last few years. It was definitely
banned from TV in Britain, but got into the art etc cinemas pretty quickly.
ergo the Oscar, Bafta, Venice Festival, etc awards it won.

A low key approach almost always works best, I think.

As for the bang itself, Terminator 2 (Los Angeles) and Armageddon (Paris)
have very dramatic depictions of the nuclear explosion (OK, Armageddon's
isn't nuclear but it is in the megaton range so I'll give it the gong).

Cheers,

Brett
