"they turned away"

I am wondering if anyone can help me with a farely well known quote by a
Polish (i think) rabbi from circa WW2.  I used to have it in my notes, but
have misplaced it somehow.  the quote is essentially "they came for the
unionists, jews, homosexuals, etc and they turned away".

I need it to use in a junior high social studies class, as it captures a
lot!
