maybe we should let all Americans take an exam on "Cultures & Customs of
<country of destination>" whenever they go abroad. The exam will start once
the plane has taken off; any American who fails the exam will not be
allowed into the country, but sent back on the first available flight back
to the US. :)
I am sure that the Dutch tourist industry would love to institute such a
plan. The hotels, restaurants, taxis and museums would love to institute
this policy. It would insure the peace and quiet of these institutions. No
more worrying about having enough tables or rooms for those loud mouthed
tourists. Much less book-keeping after letting go the extra staff.
