We couldn't understand the Deion thing here.

Dan had co-workers in California (well, at least one) who are Redskins
fans, and at least one was gloating over the Deion Sanders acquisition at
the beginning of the season in Dan's presence. Dan just gave him a look
and said that they'd just paid $50 million for a bad toe.

My sister, who's had bad luck in having reasonable football teams to root
for lately, was very interested in the Redskins last year, but reserved
the right at any time to turn her feelings for them to unabated hatred.

(She lives in DC. She used to live near Cleveland, and was pretty upset
about the Browns being relocated and renamed. She was also pretty upset
about how Jack Cook treated the folks in Maryland when he relocated the
Redskins, and refused to root for them while he was still alive and owning
the team. Last I heard, she still wasn't sure how she felt about Snyder,
and asked advice from me on who to root for in the playoffs at the end of
the season.)
