I got a similar message the other day on some servers, except that it was a
network share instead of a printer. However, in MS networking, they are the
same. The error was Invalid Share Name. There was no obvious reason for
this, but when I tried to connect to the same servers two days later, I was
able to do what I needed to do.

I don't know if these apply.
You could try to connect from a DOS prompt
c:\net use LPT1: \\<printserver>\<laserprintername
You can try this connecting to the UNC for the printer. To find the UNC for
the server type:
c:\net view \\<printserver>
This should help. If you get some other error like "error 53 Access denied",
you know what your REAL problem is.
You could also verify the printer provider order in Network Settings is set
to the protocol you are using.
