The worse thing that they do is "expropriate" it, when they take it and pay a fair price for it. BTW, usually this fair price is much higher than the free-market price, because there are bribes than run for those in charge of evaluating the value of the land. BTW, AFAIK there is a group of convervationists that is doing exactly this: they are buying chunks of the rain forest. Ok, some of them latter cut all trees and sell them... Alberto Monteiro
