It's a one-syllable word, easily spelled phonetically, that wasn't
already taken as a .net domain.

It has the additional characteristic of being the name of Buzz
Lightyear's nemesis in Toy Story 2.  The domain zurg.com belongs to
Disney, and apparently there's all sorts of cool Emperor Zurg stuff at
that site.
