I'm going to go with what Nye said.  I don't think
it's a good idea for us to pursue the open imperialist
agenda.  Like the article says, there are already
anti-American power blocks forming- anything we do is
going to have a net negative effect for the forseeable
future.  The least negative effect we could have is to
go with Bush and involve ourselves only when really
necessary and/or when asked.  That's just militarily,
mind you.  Culturally, ideologically, and economically
I think it's inevitable that our influence will
continue to expand.  That will be accelerated by our
not having troops wandering around the planet so much,
reminding everyone that we're number one.
