The correct phrase is "Britannia ruled the waves".

Then by all means, let both Microsoft and the US rule the world!

I mean, the Roman Empire eventually fell, and pretty much all that remains
of the once powerful British Empire are the memories of it(*). So, if
history keeps doing what it does best -- repeat itself -- sooner or later
both the Microsoft Empire and the US will fall too... <evil grin>

And then, the Great Revolution will finally come, and the Evil Capitalists
will be defeated in the Glorious Battle For Freedom!

Sorry about that, got carried away for a moment... <grin>

(*)Ever watched "The Last Night Of The Proms"? "Rule Britannia" is standard
repertoire on that evening. It always amuses me to see a few thousand people
sing along with it, with an enthusiasm as if they really believe Britannia
still rules the waves. :-)

Nah, they still have control, they just try to cover it up through
organisations that make the rest think they have a say in anything. You
know: UN, NAFTA, NATO, and a bunch of other abbreviations. They only need
the CIA to take out anyone who rebels. <grin>
