I know people like that...but they tend to make exceptions for the folks
they know. We had a good experience in the Woodlands last night. We had a
prayer service for the nation and for those that lost their lives and their
loved ones. Christians, Ba'hi, Jews, and Moselems all led the community in
prayer.

I also heard on the local news radio a local rabbi and priest talk about
hearing of an Arab being harrassed on the local college campus. The rabbi
discussed how "an eye for an eye" was a bad translation of the Hebrew, the
better translation was "only an eye for an eye" He strongly condemmed any
attack on Arabs.

I think, even with all the muttering, we'll get by OK on this. Maybe Bush
could get enough time to have a photo-op with Arab-American leaders who
could talk about their indignation and their willingness to help. The local
news website has a feature on how the Houston Islamic community is mourning
their losses in the horror in NY and Washington and how they are putting on
a blood drive to help. I think stories like this will help. The mayor came
on the radio talking about our diverse community and how Houston is pulling
together in this. That should also help.

>Like all of you, the horror of this attack leaves me with a void in my
chest
>and a horrible, bloody rage welling up to fill it.

I think I am mainly depressed.
