The plastic knives seems a little excessive, but the no e-tix makes sense to 
me if they can be duplicated. Perhaps they need to refine this system?  

The non-ticketed passengers in gate areas is a policy already held in most 
major airports.  I've experienced that in JFK, LGA, Newark, DFW and Atlanta, 
but not, surprisingly enough in O'Hare (Chicago) and Reagan in DC.

We have to expect that some of our liberties will be curtailed in exchange 
for increased safety.  We don't have to like it, however.
