The current word is that a council of Afghani Islamic clerics will decided
tomorrow whether or not to release bin Laden.
IMHO - the worst case outcome for the United States is that they release
bin Laden. Even if we do not lose our moral resolve in that eventuality,
it is almost certain that many of the nations that are part of the
now-forming coalition *will.*
This is not a pursuit of bin Laden.
This is a war against terrorism. This war will only be run when the
United States is able to turn off the fountains of hate from which
terrorism is springing.
And if the Taliban and Iraq survive by simply turning over bin Laden, then
it will simply be a matter of time until the next 5,000 Americans are killed.
