The Fool submitted: > Mullah Omar - In His Own Words > The Guardian > 9-26-1 > Voice of America interviewer: Why don't you expel > Osama bin Laden? Omar: This is not an issue of Osama bin Laden. It is an > issue of Islam. Islam's prestige is at stake. So is Afghanistan's > tradition. You've gotta wonder why most of the other Islamic leaders are saying it's an issue of terrorism... I also found amusing the way he said: America controls the governments of the Islamic countries. The people ask to follow Islam, but the governments do not listen because they are in the grip of the United States. If someone follows the path of Islam, the government arrests him, tortures him or kills him. This is the doing of America. The Taliban arrests, tortures and kills if you set one toenail off the path of Islam (as defined by their own Mullahs), but that's OK, even if the victim was trying to do good according to the teachings of the Koran. Just how many mosques are there in the US? They don't seem to have too much trouble following Islam there? I don't know about the US, but the Australian government has special working arrangements to allow mosque attendance on Fridays, and my last employer had an office set aside for Moslems to pray in. Has this guy ever been outside the Middle East? Russell C.
