I didn't get a look at the editorial page in my paper today until just now.
In addition to the Thomas Friedman piece currently under discussion, there is a piece by Kathleen Parker, http://orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/orl-edpparker03100301oct03.column?coll=orl%2Dopinion%2Dheadlines about the treatment of women under the Taliban, and what we need to do about it. There's also a piece by Molly Ivins, which I cannot find anywhere on the web. I may try to type it in at a later time. It starts out, Back from a month in Europe, I meant to begin by suggesting it's time to start thinking outside the box. Then I got back to Texas. The sign outside our neighborhood strip joint says, "Hot Babes, Cold Beer, Nuke 'Em, GW." Actually, let's start by thinking. Let me know if that sounds promising (off-list is fine) and if I get enough response, I'll make an effort to take the time to transcribe the whole thing. Julia
