IMO he was out, or the replay was inconclusive. It didn't help the
viewer that the announcers were so pro NY especially in the first
two games. He was at least as out as Giambi was at home in game 3 -
I thought the replay there was too close to call as well. Further,
in a play later on in the first game, the A's had a double play but
the guy was called safe at first. Not surprisingly, Fox didn't show
the replay over and over again like they did the play at first. All
in all, I thought the calls evened out. Except the pitching. Did
you notice that Knoblauch's strike zone started below the letters
but that Menechino's started somewhere around the shoulders?

Agree.

It's hindsight, but I think, 7th inning, pitchers duel, behind by one
run, Rivera in the bullpen, full bench, you pinch run.

I thought there were a few places though, that stealing bases cost
them runs, especially the time Soriano got caught. I think
Knoblauch or Jeter singled shortly thereafter so the caught stealing
hurt them. On the other hand, I think the A's could have run more
on Posada - especially in game 4 with el Duque (however you spell
it) doing that leg kick thing. Also wasn't there a bunt attempt
that was popped to Giambi? Free out.
