I noticed that when Captain Archer did the Captains Log that he used the
standard date format: July 30, 21xx (can't remember the year) instead of the
stardate used in all of the other series. Small things like that make this
show seem a little closer to home.
I also noticed that they don't have to worry about that pesky "Prime
Directive" yet. That should open up a few plot lines.
