A good argument. However, (1) They may be trying to argue that Spiderman's universe is our Universe (just like DC decided that Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-prime, Earth-C-minus, etc. was just tooooooo complicated and tried to collapse everything into one "real" universe) but just because we don't get the _Daily Bugle_ out here in the sticks we never hear of Spiderman's exploits except in the movies, or (more probably) (2) They figure that the sight of the WTC on-screen would be too traumatic for some people at a basic gut level (regardless if it were presented as having been saved in an "alternate reality") which would translate into decreased ticket $ale$. (It wasn't for no reason that a reviewer referred to the reality in which the Marvel/DC cross-overs occur as "Earth-Big Bucks.") -- Ronn! :) God bless America, Land that I love!
