The most disturbing sentence in that article was "In Seattle, they're bickering over whether state employees can even say 'Merry Christmas,' and a school district near Rochester forbade students from using the word 'Christmas.'" FORBADE students from saying "Merry Christmas?" That makes me sick to my stomach. Once again, The Bill of Rights gets used as a club rather than a shield. BTW, interesting note to add to this. I asked my daughter, now in kindergarten, if she was excited about her Christmas party. She *emphatically* corrected me, saying it was a *holiday* party. I understand, of course, that the school is likely toeing the PC line there, but it was a most abrupt reaction to a simple error in the generation gap, as it would have simply been a Christmas party back in the prehistory of man when I was a kindergartner. Understandable, but unsettling nonetheless.
