So, did anyone see it? Thoughts? I figured the list would be abuzz. SPOILERS
On the whole, I was rather disappointed. I'm not up to crafting a coherent review, but some random thoughts. First, the "weapons officer" floating in space and shooting at people - that was just ridiculous. It simply looked completely and absolutely absurd. I don't know whose idea that was, but they desperately need to rethink that. Maybe after the "refit" they can get a control system that makes sense. Second, this episode revealed a series that had no _depth_. I remember the original broadcast of _The Gathering_, and I really liked it. As soon as I saw it I thought it had the potential to be a really great TV show. But this was so simplistic. There's the good guys (the Rangers) and the bad guys (this mysterious alien race). Now maybe JMS is planning on spinning us like a top the way he did on the original series, but B5 had multiple layers right from the beginning, and they just don't seem to be present here. Third - a haunted ship? I mean, what the hell? How cliched and ridiculous is that, really? It was such an obvious plot device to blow the cover of the mole (who was really obvious right from the beginning - the conspicuous new alien race - gee, I wonder who it could be) - they couldn't come up with _anything_ better? It was really obvious that there was a mole, after all, since they were ambushed at the colony planet, and no one on either ship was even suspicious until a bunch of _ghosts_ told them? Anyways, so I'm very disappointed. Gautam
