She looked hidious to me in the film.
And to me. The scene was beautiful up to the moment where she started to be tempted by the Ring. Two little kids started crying halfway through her speech behind me in the theater, so I assume it was a bit scary to young'uns as well.
Re: the extra 40 minutes of trailer footage.... there's a simple explanation for that. Britney Spears, N'Sync and Kid Rock are joining the cast in the next movie. Really, they're doing a hip-hop video and everything. They even have speaking lines :)
