H'm. Well, my personal counts-for-nothing opinion is that even a 'warning' is 'way over the top. A request to cool it, sure. An admonition, maybe. A warning, complete with threat, no way. IMHACFNO, the function of the listowners here is administration, NOT moderation. But what do I know? If my opinion is unpopular or not in line with political correctness here, I can just go away (or be blacklisted, whatever). It won't bother me. I'll just tell Him, "hey, I hung out on that list you recommended for a few months, but it wasn't as open and as free-wheeling as I thought, so I bailed. thanks anyway!" He probably won't care much more than I do, but I'd feel the closure appropriate. It's no skin off my nose.. but that the listowners feel that this sort of action is acceptable and part of their charter doesn't jibe with what I was led to believe about the list.
