People have wondered why I believed JDG should be given a warning, and asked to post the relevant remarks. Here they are (although I may have missed a few).
December 30, 2001: >"Israel retaliates in revenge?????" And you wonder why people start to >think that you might be anti-Semitic! I'll drop you a hint - positively >ridiculous insults of Israel (which is closely identified with Judaisim >itself), like this one go a looooooong ways. >Jeroen, with the above comment, you have abandoned all pretext of >rationality on this subject. >Please come back when you intend to be serious about this. >What history text books do they use in the Netherlands? Again Jeroen, >gross misrepresentations of history go a loooong way in making people start >to wonder about anti-Semitism on your part. >Please come back when you plan on discussing history as it really happened. January 21, 2002: >At any rate, I think that the universal reaction of shock by the Americans >on this List at the bigotry inherent in a comment that was described by you >as being typical of the Dutch Media speaks for itself. > >Sure, it doesn't convince you - but not much does. January 22, 2002: > >I am not asking you to prove a negative. You claim that US media hold higher > >standards than Dutch media, so I ask you to show me examples that back your > >claim. If you cannot do that, then your contention is false. > >I'm not going to dignify this solipsy with further comment. >Your moral relativism is astonishing and sickening. >Given that plenty of international journalists work in Israel, your >conspiracy theories amount to nothing more than deluded paranoia. January 23, 2002: >Jeroen, if the world ever needed further demonstration of your flaming >Anti-Semitism, >There are two sides to this discussion, but the above statements from you >are completely beyond the pale of the opinions of any civilized human being. >Arbeit macht Frei. >If you will not make such an affirmative statement, however, then your >semantic obfuscation will not be dignified with further comment. January 24, 2002: >You are obfuscating the issue to avoid answering the real questions. January 26, 2002: >It is you who are revising history. >Did I mention that Nazis accused others of revising history as they revised >history themselves? >Anyone else find it ironic that on the question of "Does the country of >Palestine exist?" Jeroen sides with the UNITED STATES ***CIA****, rather >than the Palestinian and Arab point of view? Personally, I'm rolling in >laughter. >The limits of your ridiculous knows no bounds, Jeroen. >Let's see, the Arabs launched a surprise attack on Israel on Yom Kippur! >Does Jeroen criticize the Arabs for this? Nooooooooooo!!!! Instead, >Jeroen calls the "attacking a country on a religious holiday...." and I >quote, "brilliant!" ROFLALALALALALAL!!!!!!!!! > >Note that I did not say anything about that attack being justified or not. > >Yes, Jeroen, but your silence is golden. >The fact that you could comment on the situation and call it "brilliant" >without any sort of condemnation speaks volumes..... That is at least 21 incidents, ranging from ridicule to insults to accusations of anti-Semitism and drawing parallels between me and the Nazis (and thus implying that I *am* a Nazi). Oh, and I am also considered to be paranoid... On top of all this, we have (in random order): 1. a tendency to completely ignore what I write, thus making it necessary for me to keep repeating myself; 2. a tendency to misinterpret what I write; 3. making claims (such as "Dutch media have much lower standards than US media") but refusing, despite being asked repeatedly, to prove it; 4. accusations of me hiding behind the "no speaky the english" defense; 5. demanding that I answer his questions, but at the same time refusing to answer mine (one of his posts suggests that he considers my questions to be rhetorical unless specifically stated otherwise); 6. a track record of similar behaviour to me and others in the past.
