I took at look at the top 200 links from the analysis I described earlier,
using a visualization tool that creates a 3D network of the connections.
What becomes apparent is which people tend to be connectors -- those who a
more central to the network, thus directly or indirectly holding the
community together.

Three people stand out at the center of the network -- Julia Thompson, Gary
Nunn and Alberto Monteiro.

There's a nexus off to one side, so to speak, with Darryl Shannon by himself
at the center.  John Giorgis appears to be somewhat of a bridge between the
two centers.

Those are centers of thread initiation.  In terms of thread participation,
there is less convergence, of course.  There is a bit of a nexus around
Alberto and Ronn Blankenship.

I'm looking a visualization of the top 500 links now, but I suspect that the
tool is going to take a long time to settle down to a stable network.
