It's actually a better deal than say, Saddam making a Nuclear weapon in
three or four years and detonating it in tehran, damascus, tel aviv, etc.

Yes.  The tradeoff is clear: perhaps thousands dead in increased
'agression' vs millions to tens of millions if Iraq goes unfettered.
