I don't know enough about the nuts and bolts of the situation to render a well argued case either way, but: 1) the decision appears to fly in the face of everything Republicans, at least, claim to believe about business and free trade, and 2) my understanding is that the only way US steel can compete in the world's markets is if our entire industry is overhauled, modernized, and automated, which would cost many current workers their jobs anyway. So, all in all it looks like a very backwards-thinking decision. (Or, a looking no further forwards than the next election decision.) Marvin Long Austin, Texas
