The Bush administration is officially starting to scare me. I was starting
to get a little concerned when the government announced the creation of the
"Shadow Government" that is in secret, fortified locations in case of
nuclear attack. But now, the possibility of using nuclear weapons as an
offensive weapon on the battlefield scares me to death.

The BBC article scares me even more. This article quotes a Pentagon paper as
saying: "the Pentagon should be ready to use nuclear weapons in an
Arab-Israeli conflict". What could possibly justify the US becoming involved
and using nuclear weapons in that conflict?

I suppose that the threat of nuclear weapons has always been present, but it
certainly seems to me that Bush is pushing the envelope on this issue.

Is it possible that he is trying to outdo his father in this (these)
conflict(s)?
